the artist
My name is Samantha and I am an Arizona transplant, with roots in beautiful New England. I've been a creative ever since I could hold a pencil; taking every art class available to me. However, I am a newly, self-taught watercolor artist. My journey started with a set of watercolor pens from Amazon back during the pandemic. I was teaching full-time when the world got strange, and desperately needed a creative outlet. I have now found myself a part of the art community in Phoenix. I am beyond blessed to share my work with my fellow dreamers, wanderers, and nature-lovers alike.
the name
When I moved cross-country, I packed my trunk full of records my dad gifted to me from his childhood. My favorite of them was Van Morrison's, Moondance. The dusty, scratchy record always reminds me of home. I'm also a night owl and you'll find me painting into all hours of the evening. I guess you could say I literally moonlight as an artist.
the art
My style is heavily influenced on the natural world around me and all this beautiful world has to offer. I have a serious case of wanderlust and you'll see that ever-present in my art. From the ocean to the mountains, I paint what speaks to me the most.
